C. ConroyOriginally from British Columbia, I received my Bachelor of Education with distinction from the University of Victoria. Completing studies in Middle Years granted me the opportunity to start my teaching career in a remote fly-in community in Northeast Alberta - Fort Chipewyan. During my four year tenure in Fort Chipewyan, I taught in the Junior and Senior High Departments before finishing my time up north in Grades 5 and 1. In 2014 I was excited at the opportunity to come to a more urban education setting by joining the staff of Sturgeon Heights. Since joining this amazing school community I have taught Grades 5 and 1 but now am eager to return to my Junior High roots teaching English Language Arts. While my background has been in Inquiry and Sciences, I also was keenly interested and undertook extensive Professional Development in Literacy, Communicating Thoughts and Exploring Ideas which are the heartbeat of the English Language Arts programs.

MY extra Curricular Involvement |
I have been extensively involved in Science Fairs for the last 10 years. From the school, to the regional all the way to the National Science Fair level. Scientific Inquiry is a passion and keen interest of mine.
I also co-coach the Sturgeon Heights Running Club and the Sturgeon Heights World Changers Club. |
Fun Facts |
In the summer of 2015, I was fortunate enough to join a team of 16 educators travelling to the heart of the Masai Mara in Kenya to teach for 2 weeks and help to build a new school room at Olorien Primary (K-8) school. This was a life changing experience which has crept into my professional practice and inspired myself and Adriana DeLuca to start the Sturgeon Heights World Changers as we are currently working to build a school in India.
